The Institute of Biology was founded in1973 as part of the University of Odense, now University of Southern Denmark. The research covers many aspects of Biology, extending from microbes to whales in the oceans and from the early life on Earth to present and future questions. The Institute hosts two National funded Research Centers and a number of national and international funded projects.
